Locals Give Thanks by Giving Back

The holidays are a time to give thanks and celebrate the joys of our good fortune, from the love of family and camaraderie of friendship to the comforts of health and home. They’re equally importantly a time to give back and reflect on the reality that prosperity and security is not a benefit all of our Brothers and Sisters share.

Spreading joy to those less fortunate is the essence of holiday spirit, and rallying together to lift one another up is a foundational pillar of union membership.

Local 340 will be holding its annual Christmas Food and Toy Drive for members in need of a little extra help. The Local will be collecting non-perishable food items and new unwrapped toys at the Business Office now through December’s membership meeting. Please contribute to help out a fellow Brother or Sister this holiday season.Local 6 will also host its Toy Run & Holiday Family Fun celebration on Dec. 13 from 8 am – 1:30 pm. Please bring an unwrapped toy for the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program. And, bring the kids! They’ll get a chance to meet Santa and jump around a bouncy house. Click here for more details. You can also drop off a toy or make a donation at the Local hall through Dec. 19.
