IBEW Members Lobby for Better and Safer Jobs in Sacramento
Hundreds of dedicated IBEW members recently gathered in Sacramento for 2026 CSAEW Lobby Day, uniting to advocate for more jobs, better livelihoods, and enhanced job site safety.
California IBEW delegates met with elected officials to advocate legislation that will build safer and stronger communities, benefit their constituents and communities by adding high-wage, high-growth jobs, and help ensure a greener future for the region.
CSAEW Lobby Day collectively focused on championing a dozen pieces of critical legislation that will:
- Strengthen Workforce Protections (SB 1241): Pushing laws that ensure skilled workers are prioritized in public works.
- Enhance Utility Workers’ Safety (SB 1330): Advocating for tougher penalties against assaults on linemen serving in the field, particularly in rural areas.
- Expand EV Infrastructure (SB 1215): Calling for increased electric vehicle chargers, installed by certified electricians, to support our green future.
The group also collectively opposed harmful bills that would threaten the IBEW’s successful apprenticeship model and undermine fair wages.
