CSAEW, Californians Unite to Defend Democracy
On Nov. 4, 2025 California voters went to the polls and overwhelmingly passed Prop 50 to make sure that the 2026 mid-term elections are conducted on a level playing field. By a nearly 2-to-1 margin Californian’s rejected the Republican party’s aggressive anti-union agenda and sent a loud and clear message that we will not allow our elections to be rigged nor our democratic voices silenced.
Prop 50 will protect union jobs and infrastructure projects; advance clean energy and grid modernization; defend collective bargaining and workers’ rights and strengthen labor’s political voice.
Prop 50’s victory also reaffirms California’s commitment to independent redistricting and puts the power squarely in the hands of the people of California where it belongs – not backroom politicians – and empowers California to draw emergency, temporary congressional district maps to protect democracy and counter Trump’s national election rigging scheme.

Make no doubt: Prop 50 is a win for labor, democracy, and the rule of law.
