CSAEW: 83,000 Union Electricians Strong

Welcome to our inaugural CSAEW newsletter we have created to introduce ourselves, let you know what the organization stands for, and what’s important to our statewide electrical membership.

We are 83,000 of the best trained electricians you will find. We are Union proud, Union strong. We take pride in our work, and in our safety protocols that allow us to go home safe each night to our families. Our work can be dangerous, so we go through extensive training – a 4 or 5 year apprenticeship program to earn our union badge.

Becoming a union electrician changes people’s lives. Many of our members call it transformational. One of our proudest accomplishments is our extensive apprenticeship programs that create a path to the middle class. We provide good jobs, a pension and health care benefits that allow our members to have a voice on the job, support their families, and retire with dignity.

You will find us working on high rises, bridges, railroads, utility lines, Hollywood studios and concert halls and arenas, working through fires, snow and rainstorms. We take our role of training the next generation of electricians very seriously. The future is electrical. The future is clean energy. We are working on the forefront of technology, electrifying the nation. Our skilled and trained workforce build quality infrastructure that will last for generations.

But we are living in challenging times, with our work and jurisdiction under attack at every turn. Read some of our issues in the news stories below.
